Al-Qahhar


1. Explanation of the Name

Al‑Qahhār comes from the root ق‑ه‑ر (Q‑H‑R), meaning “to overpower,” “to subdue,” and “to prevail.” This Name proclaims that Allah is The Ever‑Prevailing One, whose will is irresistible and before whom every force and scheme must bow.

His power is unmatched—He subdues every obstacle, conquers every challenge, and upholds His decree with absolute authority.

Al‑Qahhār appears in the Qur’an to remind us that no power can resist Allah’s will; all creation is under His command.

“He subdues whom He wills, and He is the Almighty, the Most Powerful.”
