1. Explanation of the Name

Al‑Ḥāfiẓ comes from the root ح‑ف‑ظ (Ḥ‑F‑Ẓ), meaning “to guard,” “to preserve,” and “to protect.” This Name proclaims that Allah is The Preserver of All, who watches over every creature, memory, and moment, ensuring nothing is lost or erased.

As The Guardian, He secures our faith, our lives, and the entire universe—nothing escapes His vigilant care and protection.


2. About This Name

Al‑Ḥāfiẓ appears in the Qur’an to remind us that Allah’s protection is constant and absolute.

“And Allah will protect you from the people. … And Allah is sufficient as Disposer of affairs.”
