الْبَصِيرُ

Al-Basir

1. Explanation of the Name

Al‑Baṣīr comes from the root ب‑ص‑ر (B‑Ṣ‑R), meaning “to see,” “to perceive,” and “to witness.” This Name proclaims that Allah is The All‑Seeing, whose vision encompasses every detail—visible and hidden—across all times and places.

As The One Who Sees All, He observes every intention, action, and circumstance. Nothing escapes His sight, and His awareness brings justice and mercy.

2. About This Name

Al‑Baṣīr appears in the Qur’an alongside As‑Samīʿ to emphasize Allah’s perfect perception of both sights and sounds.

“And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. And He knows what is on the land and in the sea.”
— Qur’an 6 : 59

Invoking Al‑Baṣīr reassures us that our struggles and secrets are fully known to Allah, who judges with perfect wisdom.

3. Spiritual Reflection

Reflecting on Al‑Baṣīر invites us to live with integrity, knowing that Allah’s gaze is ever upon us and prompts us to align our actions with His guidance.

“Indeed, Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted.”
