Ar‑Rāfiʿ comes from the root ر‑ف‑ع (R‑F‑ʿ), meaning “to raise,” “to elevate,” and “to uplift.” This Name proclaims that Allah is The Exalter and Uplifter, who elevates the status of whom He wills and raises hearts, ranks, and circumstances according to His mercy.
