Al-Wasiʿ


1. Explanation of the Name

Al‑Wāsiʿ comes from the root و‑س‑ع (W‑S‑ʿ), meaning “to encompass,” “to be vast,” and “to extend.” This Name proclaims that Allah is The All‑Encompassing, The Boundless, whose mercy, knowledge, and power extend beyond all limits.

As The Vast One, His mercy embraces every creature, His knowledge covers all things, and His generosity flows without restraint.


2. About This Name

Al‑Wāsiʿ appears in the Qur’an to remind us that nothing lies outside Allah’s scope—His care and provision reach all.

“And My Mercy encompasses all things.”
— Qur’an 7 : 156

Invoking Al‑Wāsiʿ reassures us that no matter how vast our needs or how deep our shortcomings, Allah’s mercy and support are limitless.
