الْمَلِكُ

Al-Malik

1. Explanation of the Name

Al‑Malik comes from the root م‑ل‑ك (M‑L‑K), meaning “to possess,” “to reign,” and “to rule.” This Name declares that Allah is The Sovereign King, the ultimate authority over all creation, governing with perfect justice and wisdom.

As The King of kings, His dominion extends over every atom in the heavens and earth. He ordains laws, sets cosmic order, and no decree takes effect without His will.

2. About This Name

Al‑Malik appears in the Qur’an to remind us of Allah’s absolute sovereignty and rightful rule.

“Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent.”
