Al-Majid


1. Explanation of the Name

Al‑Majīd comes from the root م‑ج‑د (M‑J‑D), meaning “to be glorious,” “to be majestic,” and “to be noble.” This Name proclaims that Allah is The Most Glorious, whose grandeur, nobility, and majesty shine forth in perfection.

As The Source of All Glory, He deserves exalted praise and honor. Every form of greatness in creation reflects a facet of His splendid majesty.

Al‑Majīd appears in the Qur’an to remind us that Allah’s glory and honor are unmatched and everlasting.
