الْهَادِي

Al-Hadi

1. Explanation of the Name

Al-Hādī (ٱلْهَادِي) comes from the root ه-د-ي (H-D-Y), meaning “to guide,” “to direct,” and “to show the way.” This Name proclaims that Allah is The Guide, Who leads His servants from error into the straight path.

As The One Who Shows the Way, He illuminates our hearts with wisdom and steers us toward that which brings true success.

2. About This Name

Al-Hādī appears throughout the Qur’an to remind us that guidance is a gift from Allah alone.

“Allah is the Protector of those who have faith: from the depths of darkness He will lead them forth into light.”
— Qur’an 2 : 257

Invoking Al-Hādī reassures us that, no matter how lost we feel, He is ready to guide us toward His mercy and truth.

3. Spiritual Reflection

Reflecting on Al-Hādī inspires us to seek His direction in all matters—big and small.

“And whoever Allah guides—he is the rightly guided; and whoever He leaves astray—then those are the losers.”
— Qur’an 7 : 178
