الْمُتَكَبِّرُ

Al-Mutakabbir

1. Explanation of the Name

Al‑Mutakabbir comes from the root ك‑ب‑ر (K‑B‑R), meaning “to be great,” “to magnify,” and “to exalt.” This Name proclaims that Allah is The Supremely Great, whose majesty and grandeur surpass all comparison and limitation.

As The Most Exalted, He embodies infinite greatness—no attribute in creation can encompass His glory. He alone deserves exaltation and praise.

2. About This Name

Al‑Mutakabbir appears in the Qur’an to remind us of Allah’s unparalleled supremacy and to humble our hearts before His majesty.

“He is Allah; there is no deity except Him—the Sovereign, the Pure, the Source of Peace, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior (Al‑Mutakabbir), the Most Generous…”

Recognizing Allah as Al‑Mutakabbir deepens our humility, for we stand in awe of the One whose greatness fills the heavens and the earth.
